Texas Republican Congressman Roger Williams appeared on CNBC’s Squawk Box on Wednesday morning to discuss his tax reform plan, called Jumpstart America. Williams is a member of the House Financial Services Committee and a second generation small business owner.
The Jumpstart America proposal would cap individual tax rates at 20%, and 30% for those making more than $1 million a year; Lower corporate tax rates; Lower capital gains and dividend tax rates; Allow 100% expensing of fixed asset purchases; Implement payroll tax cuts, and Repeal the Inheritance Tax. It’s supported by Americans for Tax Reform and Douglas Holtz-Eakin, former CBO director and senior staff economist to President George W. Bush.
