The Empire-Tribune reports that Stephenville Mayor Kenny Weldon will present a Hotel Occupancy Tax proposal to the City Council tonight, urging them to make sure the city is in compliance with state law when it comes to managing revenues from the fund. The council recently voted to strip the Chamber of Commerce of $240,000 annually and create a city-run tourism center, which stunned Weldon and Chamber representatives.
