The 2017 Upland Bird Extravaganza raised over $220,000 this year. Just like the skeet shooters blasting clays in the shooting competition, the Stephenville Evening Lions Club was shooting for a record during last weekend’s wild game dinner and auction. The two-day event raised the bar once again with early reports indicating the record had been achieved through the efforts of sponsors and attendees who were bidding and buying chances on everything from rifles to a Kubota 4X4 ATV.
The evening’s fare included prime rib, stir-fried duck, catfish, wild pork and more. The best part is that 100-percent of the funds raised go toward supporting more than 25 local organizations.
