The Tarleton State University Police Department is offering women a Rape Aggression Defense course beginning Monday. The free, 12-hour course in four sessions is open to female students, faculty, staff and the general public. The course is scheduled to meet from 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 27 and 28, and again March 6 and 7.
RAD instructors focus on education, awareness, prevention, risk reduction and the avoidance of assault and rape. The system is dedicated to teaching defensive concepts and techniques against various types of assault by using easy, effective and proven self-defense and martial arts tactics. The instructors are Sgts. Kristie Bint and Amanda Miller of the Tarleton Police Department.
