Be aware of a change in speed limit implemented by the Texas Department of Transportation recently. They made an adjustment to the speed limit on a portion of Hwy. 67/377 to and from Dublin after doing a speed study.
According to Police Chief Jason King, Stephenville was notified by TxDOT and then asked for a supporting ordinance, which is standard procedure when speed limits are changed within the municipality on state highways. The ordinance was passed at the city council meeting on Dec. 6.
The speed limit now stays at 55 miles per hour until getting completely outside the city limits on Hwy. 67/377. The same is true for coming back into city limits from Dublin.
