The Stephenville ISD board of trustees approved the proposed iPad purchase for Stephenville High School at Tuesday’s meeting. The purchase of 1,250 new 128GB iPads will cost over $492,000.
The decision was between the iPads and a MacBook Air laptop. SISD Executive Director of Technology & Digital Learning Shelby Womack said they had to consider the cost– and the cost of repairing a MacBook Air is more than the cost of buying an iPad, whereas the cost for repairing an iPad isn’t cheap, but there aren’t as many parts to repair. iPad cases will be discussed later on while Apple works to create them for the new model.
