Stephenville High School filmmakers Emily Moore and Caleb Gibbons earned high honors at the UIL Young Filmmakers Festival in Austin, winning fifth place in the state for their powerful documentary, entitled “Heart of Gold”. Stephenville High’s Heart of Gold football game honors someone every year who is struggling with some form of illness. The Empire-Tribune reports that seniors Moore and Gibbons got the idea from theatre teacher Mindy Pope. The two started the film in October, right before this year’s Heart of Gold game that honored Luke Nelson, and put in countless hours filming, editing and hard work, making sure they produced a quality film that really meant something.
