At Thursday’s meeting of the Stephenville Economic Development Authority, the group came together on a budget and considered executive director John Hubbard’s report on economic development in the city, as well as updates on the SEDA logo and website design.
The biggest item on the agenda in terms of dollars was the approval of the 2016-17 budget in the amount of $489,941.
During the budget discussion, SEDA President Matt Harpole suggested that adjustments to the numbers can be made throughout the year by the board.
With that provision, the budget was passed unanimously.
Hubbard then spoke of several strong retail and manufacturing possibilities that could bring several hundred new jobs to Stephenville.
However he added those negotiations are ongoing and can’t be discussed publicly at this time.
