The trial of 29-year-old Dallas contractor Argel Cital got under way on Tuesday. He’s accused of running a repair scheme in Dublin after the severe storms of 2015.
Cital allegedly took $10,000 from an elderly woman for construction repairs to the roof of her Dublin home, cashed the check and did not perform the work. Assistant District Attorney Jett Smith said in his opening statement that she made multiple attempts to contact him, but her check was already cashed.
Cital was indicted in August 2016 on charges including theft of more than $1,500 and forgery by passing of an elderly person.
