Texas attorney Trey Trainor, who oversaw the petition verification process for the Ranger College annexation election, has been nominated by President Donald Trump to serve on the Federal Election Commission.
If confirmed by the U.S. Senate, this partner at the firm of Akerman LLP will serve the remainder of a six-year FEC term that will expire in April 2021. Earlier this year, Trainor was assigned to the Pentagon where he served as special assistant to Defense Secretary James Mattis in the Office of General Counsel. He has seved as general counsel for the Texas Republican Party, the Texas Secretary of State and for Rick Perry’s 2012 presidential campaign.
