Erath County officials are getting pretty steamed at the activities leading to trash being scattered along a 200-yard stretch of county road 194.
Hundreds of beer bottles, plastic solo cups and other garbage were strewn along the road Saturday night, forcing Precinct 3 Commissioner Joe Brown to solicit help from his crew and even his own sons and grandson to get the mess cleaned up.
Brown said Monday that it was like someone just drove down the road dumping it all out.
Sheriff Tommy Bryant said his office received a call about 9:15 p.m. Saturday reporting the mess.
Brown said they had it cleaned up by midnight, but said it costs the county money, with two county crewmen putting in overtime.
