According to child nutrition director Mona Little, nearly half of students in the Stephenville ISD receive free or reduced rate lunches. The percentage has fluctuated over the past five years, but has marginally decreased from 51 to 47 percent. She says at the beginning of the year, letters go home to let them know what’s available, in case they missed it during registration. Little says it’s communication and relationships that make the process work. Regular priced meals are $1 for breakfast and $2.50 for lunch. Reduced prices are 30 cents for breakfast and 40 cents for lunch.
