At Monday’s meeting of the Erath County commissioners, the North Central Texas Council of Governments recognized the 25-year partnership between its Regional 9-1-1 Emergency Program and the Erath County Sheriff’s Office.
The program has implemented enhanced 911 service that offers automatic number identification, providing the telephone number of the caller; automatic location identification, which provides the call 911 operator with selective routing, which makes it possible for calls from a large area be routed automatically to the proper jurisdiction.
The NCTCOG 911 program provides its services to 14 counties including Erath, Collin, Dallas, Ellis, Hood, Kaufman, Palo Pinto and Wise Counties. The sheriff’s office was presented with a plaque for the partnership.
