Military historian Dr. Thomas Hatfield will discuss one of the most decorated American soldiers in World War II— Maj. Gen. James Earl Rudder—on Monday, Feb. 13, as part of Tarleton State University’s yearlong centennial celebration. Gen. Rudder was a Tarleton alumnus who became president of Texas A&M-College Station and chancellor of the A&M System.
Dr. Hatfield served under Rudder as an intelligence officer in the U.S. Army Reserve and decades later wrote his widely acclaimed biography entitled Rudder: From Leader to Legend.
Hatfield’s lecture will begin at 7 p.m.in the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center auditorium. Admission is free and open to the public.
