The best way to surprise a teacher on a chilly morning is with an education grant. And that’s just what the Stephenville Education Foundation did for several SISD teachers Thursday morning, awarding 13 grants totaling over $22,000.
Education Foundation Executive Director Mindy Wooley said this year’s grants have been over the top with innovation. She said every year she’s amazed at what teachers are doing to push students in the classrooms with creativity, technology and hands-on learning, adding that tax dollars support mandated education, while Foundation funding enhances the educational system. Six of the 13 grants went to Stephenville High School.
Brian Salge and Steven Rains will receive $3,483 for “Understanding Light with Interferometry,” which will teach optics to all physics students.
