37-year-old Dublin resident Jason Gross was indicted by the Erath County grand jury for voter fraud in the November 2016 election, when he allegedly voted twice. District Attorney Alan Nash said he was really impressed that county clerk Gwinda Jones and her team caught the double vote. Gross openly admitted that he wanted to support his presidential candidate. His second ballot was not counted in the official election results.
The Texas Election Code addresses a person knowingly voting more than once in an election.
The second degree felony is punishable by imprisonment for not more than 20 years or less than two years.
The grand jury indicted 17 individuals.
