The Empire-Tribune reports that Dr. Bill Campion, President of Ranger College, issued a statement after the stunningly-lopsided failure of the Ranger Annexation vote on Tuesday, saying

“The voters have spoken, and Ranger College accepts the voters’ wishes,” [end quote] Dr. Campion’s remarks, isued about an hour after the results of the annexation vote were released, were aimed at healing wounds and moving forward. Nearly 96 percent of Erath County voters rejected the measure with only 229 people voting in favor and 5,787 voting against.
