AT&T cell phone users across the country and specifically North Texas experienced issues getting through to 911 for several hours on Wednesday night. AT&T tweeted at 9:30 p.m. that the issue had been resolved. The Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission commented on the problem on Twitter, saying

We’re receiving reports of widespread AT&T 911 call outages. @FCC public safety staff are investigating. [end quote]. Issues originating from much of Texas, Ohio, Greater Washington D.C., New York, Chicago, Orlando and Los Angeles.
